ISP Respond to 15 Accidents Monday in District 18

Illinois State Police District 18 troopers were busy on Monday, Nov. 11, handling a number of accidents caused by the inclement weather. According to Master Sgt. County Board Approves 2020 Budget

The Montgomery County Board approved the budget for Fiscal Year 2020 on Tuesday, Nov. 12, which included a deficit of nearly $3 million before dipping into the county's reserves. Hillsboro Teen Involved in Accident near Salem

A Hillsboro teenager was involved in a two-vehicle crash north of Salem on Wednesday, Nov. 6. According to Illinois State Police District 12 in Effingham, the 16-year-old male from Hillsboro was driving south on Illinois Route 37 south of Alma when he swerved into the northbound lanes struck a vehicle head-on.  Read more...

Litchfield to Offer Brush Pick-up

The city of Litchfield is reminding residents that they will be offering brush pickup next week, weather permitting. Woman Killed in Crash with Train

A Blue Mound woman was killed on Thursday, Oct. 17, after the vehicle she was driving was hit by a train in Taylorville. Pamela McPherson was pronounced dead at 11:03 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital by Christian County Coroner Amy Calvert Winans. She was 52.
