Pumpkin Patch Success

Fri, 07 Dec 2018 14:46:17 CST

Story Provided by: Erin Kistner, Hillsboro FFA Chapter Reporter

The Anderson Farm Pumpkin Patch had a great deal of success this year, according to Grace Anderson. This is Grace's fourth year working with the pumpkin patch, and uses the work experience for her SAE in FFA. The pumpkin patch has truly become a family business as three generations of Anderson's are involved in the operation.

Nearly 100 people visit the patch every weekend when they were open this past fall. Visitors get a true farm experience, from choosing pumpkins to purchase, enjoying the corn maze, feeding the goats, or enjoying a wagon ride. Many different organizations visit the venue, such as 4-H clubs and other school groups. The Hillsboro High School Art Club usually assists with face painting and other art activities on the opening weekend.
