PEORIA, Ill. (AP) _ Defense attorneys expect to soon wrap up
their case in the trial of a man charged with the beating deaths of
five members of his ex-wife's family who were killed in their
central Illinois home.
Lawyers representing Christopher Harris say they will question
two witnesses Wednesday and then be done. Those witnesses will be
Harris' former wife, Nicole Gee, and the couple's daughter.
Harris is charged with beating Gee's father, Rick Gee, to death
along with Rick Gee's wife, Ruth Gee, in 2009. Harris is also
charged with killing Ruth Gee's 16-year-old daughter, Justina
Constant, and 14-year-old son, Dillen Constant, and Rick Gee's son,
Harris admits killing Dillen, but says he walked in as the boy
killed his own family.
Jurors could get the case Thursday.
