Meth Bust Near Hillsboro

(Hillsboro)--Two people were arrested and face drug related charges following their arrest Monday in Hillsboro. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the South Central Illinois Drug Task Force along with the Illinois State Police methanphetamine response team and Hillsboro Police searched a machine shed on Route 16 in Hillsboro.
During the search of the property, a meth lab was discovered along with meth manufacturing material. 52 year old Larry Korunka of Hillsboro and 35 year old Jason Darte of Mt. Olive were taken into custody.
Korunka was cited with two counts of aggravated participation of meth manufacturing, and with delivery of meth. Darte was cited with participation of meth manufacturing. The arrests were apart of a three month long investigation.
More arrests are anticipated.
