(Raymond)--A new retail store may be coming to the Village of Raymond. During the village board meeting Monday night, Keith Moran from Moran Economic Development announced that a retail store is interested in building in the west end of Raymond. Moran said that the only request the company is seeking is a business district. The village was presented the option of establishing a business district at the address site of the new store.
According to Moran, the business district will have the sales tax raised from 6.25 to 7.25 percent in the district. The proposed store could generate up to ten thousand dollars in additional revenue for the village.
Moran stated that construction could begin in May if everything goes smooth. The project is estimated to cost one million dollars from start to finish. The Raymond Village Board will be considering the business district at its next meeting.
