Coffeen Lake Receives Grant

(Coffeen)--Governor Pat Quinn has announced a grant of 263 thousand dollars will be used to rehabilitate the south pool boat access area at Coffeen Lake. The project includes constructing a two lane boat ramp, floating boat docks, yard hydrants and drinking fountains, a new vault toilet, and resurfacing parking lots and a new kiosk.
The project also calls for rehabilitating the existing island causeway, fishing trail, vault toilet, electrical and lighting revisions, signs, and landscaping.
The project will be managed by the Illinois Capital Development Board. It will be funded with Department of Natural Resources boating funds, with 75 percent of the costs coming from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
