(Hillsboro)--The Montgomery County Health Department held an information meeting on Wednesday concerning proposed changes to the counties food ordinance. According to Cindy Howard from the Health Department, two major changes are proposed. First, the grading sheet used for all establishments will be updated and changed. The changes will reflect three things: temperature, cross contamination, and personal hygene. The second major change is the establishment will have a letter grade placed in front of their facility. Scores of 100 to 91 will result in an "A" grade; 90 to 81 will result in a "B" grade, and 80 to 71 will result in a "C" grade.
The proposed changes must be approved by the county board. If approved, the new changes will go into effect on January 1st.
