A 17-year-old male was arrested Saturday after allegedly causing a disturbance inside McDonald's in Hillsboro.
According to Hillsboro Police Chief Randy Leetham, the 17-year-old had jumped the restaurant's counter and threatened employees. An officer arrived at the scene and was met outside by the agitated individual.
While outside, the subject began yelling at the officer, who was attempting to take the juvenile into custody. The subject then pulled away and began wrestling with the officer. The juvenile's brother approached the pair, and Chief Leetham said it is believed he was going to interfere with the arrest. A bystander, however, stopped the brother before he was able to interfere.
The juvenile was cited for Disorderly Conduct, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Damage to State Supported Property. The officer received minor injuries during the altercation. The 17-year-old was later detained at the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center.
