Victory Lane in Litchfield recently presented a check to the St. Clare Food Pantry in the amount of $5,000. The check was a matching gift that represented every dollar donated up to $5,000 through November 30.
Dealership Owner Gene Hebenstreit said he and his team were thrilled with the response to the challenge, and he was pleased that people saw the need in anticipation of the holiday season and responded so generously. The food pantry is located on Madison Street in Litchfield, and is a ministry of HSHS St. Francis Hospital. It serves residents of Montgomery and Macoupin Counties.
"We are most appreciative to Victory Lane for the generous challenge grant," said HSHS St. Francis Director of Philanthropy Paula Endress. "The matching donation enabled donors to double the value of their contribution."
According to Endress, donors contributed over $7,000 this year, bringing the total contribution to over $12,000 after the dealership's donation.
