The Illinois Department of Transportation will host a public meeting Wednesday, April 12, to discuss the upcoming construction schedule for the Chicago-to-St. Louis high speed rail program. Detailed information on the construction impacts - including where and when work will take place - and subsequent benefits of the completed project will be available for the public to review and ask questions.

The meeting will focus on imporvements to be made in the Metro East area and is an open-house format. It will be held Wednesday, April 12, from 5-7pm in the Atrium Hotel and Conference Center in Alton.

Attendees can view a video presentation, review exhibits and meet with IDOT staff and represnetatives working on the project.

The corridor improvements are tentatively scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017.
