(Springfield)--The Illinois firearm deer hunting season begins Friday through Sunday and concludes November 29th through December 2nd. According to the Department of Natural Resources, hunters harvested over ninty eight thousand deer during last year's hunt. So far this year, over 334 thousand permits have been issued.

The legal hunting hours for the firearm season are one half hour before sunrise and one half hour after sunset. Hunters who succeed in taking a deer must register throught the Department of Natural Resources website, or by phoning 866-452-4325.
