Meth Bust In 2011 Leads To Over 40 Years In Sentencing

(Hillsboro)--A September 30th, 2011 meth bust in Nokomis has resulted in a total of over 40 years in sentencing. According to the Montgomery County States Attorney's Office, 50 year old Joseph Shelton of Nokomis, 37 year old Charles Johnson of Bingham, and 44 year old Diana Beamer of Nokomis were arrested when an active meth lab was found at a residence on South Pine Street in Nokomis.

Shelton was sentenced to 13 years in prison on June 19th following a contested hearing. Charles Johnson was sentenced on July 16th to 18 years in the Department of Corrections. Diana Beamer was sentenced on October 22nd to 7 and a half years in the Department of Corrections for the offense of meth conspiracy. Beamer was also sentenced to 3 years for aggravated battery.
