The Illinois Department of Transportation has posted weight limits on Shipman Road at the bridge over Coops Creek.

According to IDOT, due to the results of a recent load rating inspection of the bridge located 2.6 miles north of IL Rt. 16, the Illinois Department of Transportatio's Bureau of Bridges and Structures has instituted a load posting at 15 tons for single unit vehicles and 20 tons for combination vehicles using the bridge.

Vehicles over these weight limits are instructed to use IL Rt. 4 and Rt. 16 as a detour route.

Signs are now posted at the bridge.
