An Irving man was killed Saturday night just before 9 o'clock while walking on Pine Street near the intersection of Franklin Street in Irving. 51 year old Michael Adams was pronounced dead at the scene by the the Montgomery County Coroner's office, after being struck by a vehicle driven by 20 year old Shane Green of Irving.

Green was arrested and cited for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of alcohol, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Green is being held at the Montgomery County jail.

Hillsboro Area Ambulance, Witt Fire Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.

The Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team were called to assist.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police continue to investigate.
