2 County Candidates Fill Party Vacancies Prior to Election

Nominating committees of both Republican and Democratic Precinct Committee representatives recently filed resolutions and petitions to nominate candidates with the Montgomery County Clerk's Office for the upcoming November election.

According to the County Clerk's Office, the nominations were made because no Republican or Democratic Candidate was nominated at the March 20th General Primary Election for these elected offices.

The Democrat Party nominated David Loucks to run for a seat on the County Board representing District Four against Republicans Earlene Blackburn-Robinson and Roberta Meyer. Two of candidates listed will fill the open seats in that district. The Republican Party nominated Andrew Affrunti to run for State's Attorney against Democrat Bryant Hitchings, who is serving as the current State's Attorney for the county.

Anyone with questions regarding the party nomination procedure may contact the Montgomery County Clerk's Office at the Historic Courthouse in Hillsboro at 532-9530. The deadline for filing nominations was June 4.
