State Police to Hold Child Safety Seat Check

State Police District 18 will be conducting a free child safety seat check on Wednesday at Walgreens in Litchfield.

The state police is committed to making zero traffic fatalities a reality. Making sure a child safety seat is installed correctly, the correct seat is used for the child in relation to height and weight, and the seat is not expired or recalled is the first line of defense for children from newborn to at least eight years old in traffic crashes. This event is open to all and no appointments are necessary. The Litchfield Fire Department will have a fire truck and ambulance on scene and ARCH will be landing their helicopter for people to see. Prairie Farms has also donated ice cream sandwiches for those in attendance.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Any questions about the child safety seat check may be directed to Trooper Heath Bryan at 217-324-4900, ext. 223.
