HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield has named a new President and CEO.

Jim Timpe was selected to serve in the role, effective December 11. He joins St. Francis from HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield where he most recently served as the director of imaging services, rehabilitation services, and sleep and neurodiagnostics. He had been in that role since 2011.

E.J. Kuiper, who is the president and CEO of HSHS Central Illinois Division Hospitals, called Jim a "proven top-performing leader" and said he will be an asset to St. Francis and the community it serves. Timpe and his wife, Denise, will be relocating to Litchfield with their two sons, Scott and Matt, who are currently attending college.

In a statement released earlier this week, Timpe expressed his excitement in joining the Litchfield community.

"It is an honor to be chosen to serve as the top leader at St. Francis and I look forward to getting to know our colleagues, medical staff, board members, volunteers and community members."

Timpe fills the position that was left vacant following the August resignation of Kevin Seely, who had held the position for less than a year.
