On Saturday, June 8, Bremer Sanctuary in Hillsboro will be the host of a pre-summer bird walk.
Participants are asked to gather at the Bremer barn beginning at 7 a.m. with the appropriate attire, as there is a chance of showers in the forecast. The event will be held rain or shine. Birds that may be seen during the walk include red-headed woodpeckers, Baltimore and Orchard orioles, bluebirds, hummingbirds and more. In the past, the walk has lasted between an hour and an hour and a half. Coffee and light refreshments will be available at the barn following the walk.
The sanctuary is located a half mile north of the Montgomery County Courthouse off North Road. Ample parking is available.
Bremer is a 203-acre wildlife sanctuary managed by a group of volunteer stewards and is open to the public from dawn to dusk.
