The Illinois Department of Human Services is hosting a Personal Assistant Recruitment and Training Program in Litchfield on Wednesday.

The program is intended to help prepare a person to provide assistance to persons with disabilities. It is being held at the Litchfield Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those who participate in the program will come to understand the independent living movement and philosophy, learn how to empower the independence of people with disabilities by assisting them with activities of daily living, and develop an understanding of treating persons with disabilities with the proper dignity by using proper etiquette.
