Police are investigating a shooting in Christian County that left two individuals injured on Tuesday.

Nathan L. Howell, 40, was taken into custody near a residence on North 1250 East Road in Taylorville at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp says the Taylorville resident is facing Charges of Unlawful Use/Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and may face additional charges pending the results of the investigation.

According to Sheriff Kettelkamp, the two individuals who were shot were taken to a Springfield Hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Taylorville, Morrisonville and Edinburg Police officers assisted at the scene. The Illinois State Police is assisting with the investigation.
