Fake Prescription Leads to Three Arrests

Three people were arrested in Hillsboro on Monday after allegedly attempting to illegally possess prescription drugs.

Michelle Hubbard of Springfield, Anton Thomas and Warren Morris, both of Chicago, were arrested and charged with Unauthorized Possession of Prescription Form.

At 1:39 p.m., Hillsboro Police responded to Sullivan Drugs for a report of a person attempting to pass a fake prescription. Hubbard, 33, was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Jail where she was booked on the charges.

According to Hillsboro Police Chief Randy Leetham, Hubbard had dropped off a similar prescription at CVS. Thomas, 36, and Morris, 41, had allegedly been driving a rental car with Florida license plates between the two businesses looking for Hubbard. They had not seen the arrest, Leetham said, because Hubbard was escorted out the rear of Sullivan's.

After the initial arrest, a Sullivan's employee called the police reporting that one of the suspects had walked into the store and asked for Hubbard. The suspect then reportedly left through the south exit. Officers responded and witnessed the suspect entering the rental car.

The vehicle was stopped by officers in the 400 block of South Main Street. Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office arrived and took the two men into custody. Several other fraudulent prescriptions were found inside the vehicle, according to Leetham. Some forms were completely blank, he said, while others had names and false Hillsboro addresses.
