One person was killed and another injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday in Jersey County.

According to Illinois State Police, 54 year old Paul Barnett of Madison was driving a 1995 Harley Davidson southbound on Otterville Road, approximately two miles south of Otterville, when he failed to negotiate a curve at 5:35pm. Barnett and a passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.

Paul Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jersey County Coroner.

45 year old Lanelle Hendon of Granite City was transported by Survival Flight Helicopter to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
