State Route 185 is now open between Hillsboro and Coffeen, after a re-pavement project was completed on December 2nd. The area of the repair was where the road had collapsed 6 to 8 feet due to mine subsidence caused by ongoing mining at Hillsboro's Deer Run Coal Mine. Signage indicating a 20 mile per hour speed limit and construction markers remain, but folks traveling the road should be able to maintain highway speeds through the area once again.
