Montgomery County Board Shrinking, Female Presence Shrinking Even More

After the November election, the Montgomery County Board will shift from 21 members to 14.  That's been well documented.  One thing that wasn't apparent until candidate filing wrapped up, was the fact that the number of women on the board would shrink considerably.  We're talking percentages, not just raw numbers.  Five women currently on the board have opted not to seek another term:  Bev McCoy, Earlene Robinson, Donna Yeske, Sandra Johnson and Megan Beeler.   Patty Whitworth and Connie Taylor Beck are running for another term and barring a surprise write in victory, will remain on the board.  Currently one out of every three members of the board is female, after members are sworn in for the new term, that figure will drop to one out of seven.
