A tragic weekend after two pre-teens are involved in a UTV crash in Rural Bunker Hill.   The crash Saturday morning on Shaw Road, near Prairie Dell Road, claimed the life of a 12-year-old pronounced dead at the scene.  An 11-year-old girl was airlifted to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.  The UTV rolled over several times, ejecting both occupants.    

The Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene just south of Royal Lakes just after 11am Saturday.  The Bunker Hill and Shipman Fire and Rescue squads responded, as well as the Medora Ambulance service. The investigation continues.  No names have been released.
