Former Governor George Ryan passed away last week and reaction was guarded and limited because of his complex political legacy.  State Rep Wayne Rosenthal is weighing in and he remembers the Kankakee Republican who served as Secretary of State, Lt Governor, and headed up House Republicans, for a bipartisan mindset... “I never met him, but my colleagues when I first got elected in 2010 said that he worked both sides of the aisle when he was in the House and would invite both sides to the Mansion to work on issues when he was Governor. He also would come to the House floor and actively support some of the most contentious legislation. 
We need more of that today.”
