81 year old Timothy Dees of Litchfield passed away Sat. Sept. 19. A Memorial Mass for 81 year old Tim Dees will be held On  Saturday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors graveside. . A luncheon will follow the committal service at the Holy Family Parish Center in Litchfield.  . Mr. Dees was a long-time teacher in the Litchfield school district and a decorated Vietnam War veteran,   Plummer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dees was drafted into the United States Army in 1967 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War for four years. He was a highly decorated veteran, receiving the Purple Heart and Silver Star among several other medals. 

80-year-old Mary Kay Prather of Waverly, passed away Monday, September 21.  A funeral services will be held Saturday September 26 at 10 am at Airsman and Calvert Funeral Home in Virden.  Visitation Friday September 25  from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

90-year-old Richard Alan "Dick" Whitler of Girard passed away Monday September 14.  He  owned and operated Whitler Drywall Service for 50 years.  Funeral Services will be conducted  Saturday, September 19 at 10:00 am, at First Christian Church in Girard. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at First Christian Church.   Davis-Anderson Funeral Homes, Girard is in charge of arrangements. 

 

68-year-old Lisa Jo Nerone of Williamsville, formerly of Virden, passed away Monday, September 14, . Visitation Thursday September 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virden. Interment will follow at Virden Cemetery in the Rite of Committal.

80-year-old Chesley Palmer Blevins of Gillespie passed away Saturday September 12th.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 19 at 5pm at 811 East Wilson in Gillespie.   Gravesite services will be held Monday, September 21 at 10am at Crabtree Cemetery.   Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, IL is in charge of the arrangements. 

32-year-old Johnathan Garrett Kirchner of Hillsboro passed away  Saturday, September 5. .A funeral service will be held  Sunday, September 13 at 4:00 pm on at Grace Baptist Church in Nokomis.  Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, also at the church.  Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia is in charge of arrangements. 

67-year-old Kenneth James Laughlin of Staunton passed away Sunday, September 6.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12 at 4:00 pm at Gillespie Methodist Church.  The doors will open at 3:30 pm and after the 4:00 pm service there will be a reception in the church hall.    Kravanya Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

69-year-old Jay Eric Jessen of Chatham, formerly of Girard, passed away September 2.  A Celebration of Life will will be held Saturday, September 12at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, Girard.   Visitation will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at First Christian Church, Girard.   In recognition of Jay’s lifelong love for the Fighting Illini, family and friends are invited to wear orange and blue to celebrate his life.  Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard is in charge of arrangements. 

87-year-old  Paul Henry Poeling of Staunton passed away on Monday, August 31. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12 at 11:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton.   Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 AM at the church.  The services will be followed by military honors.  Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, is in charge of arrangements. 

87-year-old Robert Wiley “Bob” Calvert of Hillsboro passed away on August 19 th , Cremation rites have been accorded.  A private burial will take place at Oak Grove cemetery.
